Step 1: Click on the monthly tab and then click the purple Buy Spark VIP button

Step 2: On the next page you will confirm your hosting selection:

Click the purple “Continue” button for the Monthly Wordpress VIP plan.

Step 3: In section 2, enter your First Name, Last Name, Email address and Password for your account:

Click the I’m not a robot box and then confirm you have read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Click the Create account button

Step 4: In section 3 fill in your billing address:

Click the “I’m not a robot” box and then confirm you have read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Click the purple Save billing address button.

Step 5: In section 4, complete the payment info and click the purple Save payment information button.

Step 6: Leave the default US East as the server location. Click the purple Continue button.

Step 7: Confirm order - Click the Complete Purchase button once the details have been confirmed.

Great, you have now created your Nexcess account and set up hosting. Next step is to create a domain name.

Step 1: From the menu on the left hand side, click on Show More.

Step 2: Select DNS

Step 3: On the next screen, click on Register Domain

Step 4: You will be brought to a new page. In the middle of the page, you will see a field “Find your domain”.

Create a unique domain name that brands you by entering in the Find your domain field.

NOTE: Please try to stay away from words like marketing or online as they could come across as spammy.

TIP: Just have fun with it! It doesn’t need to be perfect. An average domain name is better than no domain name.

Next, leave the domain extension as .com
Click the purple “Search” button.

You will see a message if the domain you chose is available. If the domain you chose is not available, make a change to your domain and try again.

Click the shopping cart to purchase your domain.
Click No thanks, just the domains button

Before proceeding to purchase your domain, click the pencil to update your payment details. It requires you to update the CVV.

Once your CVV is updated, click on the purple Complete purchase button

Step 5: The next step is to verify your domain.

1. You will receive an email from Nexcess requesting you to verify your domain. Follow the directions in the email. The subject line will be:

Once your domain has been verified, you will see the menu update in your Nexcess platform.

Step 6: Once your domain and hosting has been fully updated, you will see Plans (1) in your menu. The next step is to finish setting up your domain so it works with the Wordpress site.

1. Click on Plans (1) from the menu on the left and then click on WordPress VIP Plan.

On the next page, click on your temporary domain name under the Domain column.

You will notice on the next page that a new menu is available. Click on the Show More tab to expand the menu.

Once the menu has expanded, click on the Domains tab.

In the Modify Master Domain section, click the purple button on the right hand side.

When the pop up box opens, you will remove the temporary domain with the letters and numbers and paste the domain you just created there and then click the purple Change Domain button.

Once you have this done, the process of updating your domain may take 15 - 60 minutes. You will know it has been updated once you click on SSL on the menu on the left hand side.

On this page you will want to see that the certificates have been activated for your domain. You will see this is done when the buttons beside your domain name has been turned to purple. There is nothing to do on this page except ensure the SSL certificate is activated.

Step 7: The last step is logging into Wordpress. You should have received an email with your Admin username and password for your Wordpress site. If you didn’t, it is okay, as you will be able to retrieve this information from the Nexcess platform.

1. Click on the Nexcess name on the top left corner to bring you back to the main screen.

In the middle of the screen you will see the log in information for your Wordpress account. If you password is not there, you can request a new one by clicking on the purple Enter Wordpress button and then click on Forgot Password.

Confirm you can log into Wordpress by clicking the purple Enter Wordpress button and entering your login information.

NOTE: If you run into any issues with your SSL certificate or your password for Wordpress, contact the Nexcess support team.
